hello a friend is looking on getting a defedner on a g reg but wants to put a 200 tdi engine in it is it a simple swap and is there anyone on here will to do it for him charging him a good few quid of course.

Pretty simple if you have the space and some basic tools. I'm sure a garage would do it for him, but will charge for many hours of labour. Get him to do it himself! ;)
 
if ya search on ere its been coverd to death..

i have done the conversion myself and i am actually selling the geunine defender 200 tdi engine with everything ready to bung straight in..

im now doin the 300 tdi conversion

bite his hand off beyden, a lot easier with a genuine defender 200 than a disco one.
 
why are you changing a 200tdi for a 300tdi??? Seems like a lot of hassle for lttle difference.
 
Oh Langers.....swap your fuse box aswell to the disco one.....makes a hell of a difference not using them old style fuses.

Yeah? How do I go about doing something like that then? Would it still be easier if it was setting fire to me trouser leg due to my shoddy wiring?

You can either get some of the same connecters that are in the fuse box and putting them on the end of the wire in your 110 or connect the wires together. The wires are the same colour so its easy to match them up. You will have to make a hole in the plate that the fuse holders sit in to seat the disco box in. Tis a very easy job just a lot of wires:D:D

and as the 200 is still breathing heavy and knowone can get to the bottom of it as it drives so well..

so rather than get it rebuilt i picked up a 300 tdi disco well cheap,which mr mhm raped today:D

ERE! I dint rape it - just swapped a few bits while it werent looking :D.
