I put a 2.5 petrol from a 90 in my series a while back, and have a few questions... I've searched lots and can't find definitive answers, and I can't find a defender maintenance manual online so be nice

Setting the timing - I managed to sort the timing marks on the bottom pulley - they were faded and covered with crap, so now I have 5 nice white dobs of paint. Is the middle TDC, with the ones either side BTDC / ATDC in 3 degree increments?

What's the recommendation for the timing at idle with the strobe?

Is the oil recommendation the same as for the old 2.25s - 15w40?

15w/40 is fine ,6 degrees btdc with strobe, usually longest mark and are often marked as you say

Thanks - all the marks are now the same size due to me recreating them with white paint :doh: I *think* the centre one is TDC, but it'd be good to get confirmation
