Right...done a lot of searching but still struggling to find the answer to my dilemma.

Situation is I've just bought a rough old 90 with a N/A 2.5 Diesel and due to a very difficult gearchange I've going to change the clutch fork slave etc etc.

BUT I'm unsure of what clutch cover and friction plate to buy

Apparently she was originally a petrol 2.5 and this current engine was a conversion some years ago onto the original LT77 box. I will shortly convert this to a 200 tdi but just for the moment I need to run her 'as is'

So do I buy a 2.5 petrol cover and plate as that was what she was originally or buy a cover and plate for a diesel 200tdi or 2.5N/A. I assume all LT77's have the same number of splines.

I did some research for mine. It has been covered few times but I will say. Someone here said. Do the rule of thumb rule. Buy seperate parts etc. friction plate to engine spec. Cover plate to gearbox spec. So plate to 2.5n/a Cover to lt77 etc. someone will come and point u to right direction mate

I think yu will find its the other way round....
the clutch (friction) plate mounts on the gearbox.
The Clutch assy mounts to the flywheel.
 
Yes. Sorry. Mad hat man. Rule of thumb to each spec. Get fork that is modified etc or weld a steel plate etc

Ordered them and the reinforced fork...it going to be a busy weekend :5bsmash:
 
U using engine crane ? If so. Couple hours. Be done While u take the slave clutch off inspect the flex hose etc. so u can know to replace that when u have done the clutch change etc Plenty of sealant to mate the bell house with engine etc. good luck
 
Thanks Taffy...actually looking forward to it, if a mate turns up with the crane then yes it'll be straight forward. Hopefully it'll be frozen mud and not just standard mud
