Hi
I am exchanging my 1988 110 drum rear axle for the disc discovery type so will therefore have a surplus axle for sale. To advertise it, am I right in thinking the original is a salisbury rear axle or were there other drum axle variants?
Thanks

If the diff case is different to your front diff case then yes its a Salisbury axle. I think this awnsers your question?

It will be a salisbury if it's off a 110. Are you aware that your rear propshaft will not be long enough?

I thought that the Disco rear axle wasn't man enough to cope with a 110? It has a lower weight limit doesn't it?

Ive seen disco axles brake on discos enough times! So probaly not, but they put the rover axle on the 110 as standard on the TD5 and possiby the tdi.

No they didn't its not a standard axle its a sleeved and welded strengthened casing and contains the later 4 pin diff. It looks std but its far stronger than a 2 pin disco axle
