has anyone eva replaced a 110 rear bumper? mine is rusted ta **** and i terrified o me trailer overtaking me one day. i bought a new one, but still need to fit it. looks like lotsa grinding and welding on the way.
 
rear bumper???

you mean rear cross member :D best way is to take your rear tub off then you can get to the old one easerly. and yes a lot of grinding and welding heading your way :D
 
ffs there aint that much grinding and weling. all yer got to do is hack the old un poff wi a grinder, line the new un up and mig it on. i reckon 20 mins grinding and 1 hour welding max. the time consumin bit is removin the tub to get at it

by tub, do ya mean the whole rear end or just the floor? mines a 110 s/w.
 
just so ya can get to your chassis to weld the new one on, may get away with just taking the floor out if it not held down. Should be spot welded in!

cheers sir ian....will have a peek-a-boo 2morrow. only thing is me welding somehow always ends up looking like scattered chicken ****!!

You need to make sure it is GOOD welding, if you don't feel up to it get someone that is.

Remember you can tow up to 3500Kg of of it.
 
thanx mate. probably gonna be advisable to get a panel shop ta do it then. never tried tig or mig tho.....looks a damned sight easier than arc welding.
 
seen one bolted on thru the chassis looked pretty,shame it was thru rust
i wonder why it was up for auction?
 
when cutting off yer old one, don't forget that the wiring loom runs through the chassis.
 
you dont need to take the tub off, you can get good enough access to the top as it is. and if you know anyone with an oxycet torch then itl make cutting off the old one a lot easier!
 
By the way, with the wiring loom your be better off attaching a thick bit of wire to it, and then pulling the whole lot down from the front of the chassis, so you are sure the loom is out of the way. Obv leave some of the wire that you attached to it poking out
 
aye, burn the back end off with yer gas axe fust




ere have yer picked me bumper up yet gareth ;)
