Could anyone tell me if there is a way to check if the head gasket has been changed? I inherited a 2001 1.8 3dr Freelander with over 150000 miles on the clock and it runs fine but i am wary of the head gasket and wondered if there is a way of checking if it is the up-rated gasket.

Chances are at that mileage it's either been done or wont be a problem, just keep a close eye on the coolant level as these don't like getting low
