HI,

Wonder anyone had tried to replace the OEM spotlight at the bumper with HID, and also replace all the OEM light bulb (like parking light, license plate light, and etc...) with LED?

Will it caused the warning system to light up or any malfunction? Need the expert advice here...thanks in advanced!

Apparently led bulbs controlled by the electronic systems will generate errors as the resistance is too high.

Thanks for the info...guess I will have to stick to brighter light bulb in order to match the whiteness of the HID headlamp and the rest of the light then....Anyway...thanks again for the info!

If you look at previous threads re: LED bulbs, you'll see that they are illegal when used in fittings designed for standard bulbs. Manufacturers selling LED bulbs as E marked and legal for road use don't make it clear that they mean when used in appropriately approved lamp units.

Unless the fittings/lens units are specifically E marked as approved for LED's you could get pulled over and should fail an MOT with them fitted. This is largely because LED's have a quite different light dispersion pattern and unless the lens/reflector take this into account, light won't show in the right direction or as brightly as intended.
