HI all i have a question which is best for off roading if both cars are same year and not modified in anyway except both have same mt tyres which one will out preform the other
regards Simon:D

i guess it depends if your talking disco 1 vs classic (pretty much the same underpinnings so i doubt theres a lot in it) disco 2 vs metrocab rangie (id say disco 2) or disco 3 vs new rangie, id prob say disco 3.

but thats pretty much guesses so i could be completely wrong!

my disco of equal spec to a rrc has beat it hands down and thats driving carefully, oh and i am slightly biased but me statment was true.

after owning both a 3 door classic and two disco1s i have to say i prefere the disco myself but the range rover was verry nice and still just as able offroad.

thou to quote arielmark at tong...he said we have all decided that we're getting discos(between us there was two rrc's one d90 and my disco) thou i liked grunts truck cab 90 :D

oh forgot to say reason for the above statment was i went round every route they took without any mods(or even tread on me tire's :D ) this include's a few black routes lol

what there was a topic to follow???

i thought i did well, answered yer question, added to yer poll and then talked random bollix to raz for a few..

all in a lz day that is ;) :D

ar but does it really answer the question because from what i see all this poll proves is that there are more disco owners that Rangerover owners because which ever one you have you are going to say its the best not a single one who has got one has said the other is better

just incase yer missed it first time round mate...

I got a Rangie and I voted for Disco, so there :p

why do you think that discos are better you see i have both but want to know which one to spend the money on to inprove and use as my main one.
both on L reg 200tdi disco and RR classic 3.9 v8 the petrol has the prob of not liking water but a lot can be done to sort that. my knowlage of 4x4 is very limited thus this post but i have found that buy driving both round the same course that the RR seems to be a little better but to be honist i dont think there is much in it,one thing i do know is that the v8 sounds bloody great and has more power on road so tend to faver that

it's no good asking us what one you should do up and which you should use offroad..as thats your choice to make based on your preference on what you know and like !!

my choice of disco is based on the fact i need a 7 seater and rrc's don't come in that veration..

however i have owned both and used both daily on and offroad for work purpous's and found very little in difference due to them sharing the same running gear, the v8 engine give's better power than the 200tdi but the 200 tdi give's more torque so its in one hand out of the other really!!

as for other's opinion's being biased toward's what they drive of corse it is everyone's opinium is biased as its thiers and not yours they will choose what ever they prefere for reasons known to them this is why its called an opinium and you have to accept their right to this wether you agree with it or not mate.

now the question to pose is which do YOU prefere and which one would YOU be happier spending the money on?

I said the disco because of the LT230 transfer box, rather than the Borg-Warner VCU on the Rangie - more control in my opinion. Having previously owned a 90 fitted with Rangie engine, transmission and running gear, I much prefer my 200TDi 90 with it's LT230.
