Hi guys, no problems for a while but tonight I find my upper tailgate won't lock, seems like a possible broken mechanism as the claw just swings freely when poked with a screw driver, has anyone changed one before and if so is it a straight forward swap ?

Should be easily accessible from removing the plastic trim surrounding the bottom of the upper tailgate

Ha, yer like a bad penny! I've taken the trim off and the lock looks like it will just unscrew and come out . I was just a bit concerned about Central locking issues really , I guess the lock it's self is kind of plug and play and is controlled by a remote module? Do you think?

Yes, shouldn't have any issues

Don't be scared it's only a range rover

Should be easy to repair
Or just swap like for like
No diagnostics required
