a bigger one will last longer cranking but then again if you got to turn the motor that much I think more than a battery is needed![]()
just took mine out for a run to get thew service parts, it starts instantly, its never ever needed a few cranks or anything even in the coldest weather, but when you look at that aggro taking it to get tested, sending a report, then actualy waiting for a response, then the organisation of delivery, i bet it would be at least about 5 days by the time battery went until a new one had arrived, vs just taking one back to halfords, and then - you still cant just swap it overafter 2-2.5 years for the sake of it

Will Halfords really let you swap a two years old used battery for a new one?
That is excellent customer service. Not sure how they'll stay in business though!
No
Only if it is proved faulty and not due to a charging or vehicle malfunction fault.
You have to buy a new one and they will then credit you if the supplier says they can.
There are regretably a fair few failures of new batteries these days, some are absolute crap.Back to mail order batteries for me then! I'm sure ease of return is a bonus, but I've never even heard of anyone having to take a car battery back? Do they go wrong? It's just a box with some 'stuff' in it isn't it, there can't be many moving parts.

There's enough peeps that buy a new battery, insist on keeping the old one, then bring the old one back in a couple of days with the receipt!!!
Well when I took my car with a fitted Halfords battery from the previous owner to have it tested when it failed as he tested my alternator out put it was fine, I was told as long as had the Receipt it would be changed.i didn't as I wasnt the one that bought the originalNo

All batteries have their manufacture date stamped on them so can't see how that would work.
They do. It doesn't work, but a lot if peeps try it on and get very mouthy when yu say you won't take it back!

Also going over the mail order options if you think about it its a bit of a joke
Option 1 -Having the battery tested yourself
-Take the battery to a local garage for a battery test. Make sure the battery is fully charged and over 12volts when the test is performed. Ensure that the voltage is shown on the test report.
If your battery was so bad or not holding charge how will be able to perfome thier test with 12v lol
Looks like you would have to shell out a further £20 good isn't it!
Bit like taking a model T Ford back to have the wicks trimmed in the headlamps under warranty then. Yeah people will try it on i don't doubt that.![]()
Simple, if it will not attain 12 volts, it will show as faulty on test.
Yes, and it will show as faulty on test.yes and no. if a plate has failed (common) it can be caused by the cars charging circuit.
I've been on both sides with computer and machine maintenance and as a parts customer. Some of my customers were real buggers, those from one particular country that I cannot mention for fear of appearing racist (but the were well tanned) would try all sorts of things to get free replacementsyup. working with the general public is an eye opener. Some very nice, but there's a lot that will try anything on, and think that because yu work in retail, you are like dog ****..
peeps buying a torque wrench, then bring it back the following monday covered in grease and say" sorry mate - bought as a present - dont need it now"
peeps bringing 5litres of engine oil back "its the wrong type" you open the lid and find its full of black oil!
nowt so queer as folk!
