So i'm collecting my Rangy saturday but already dreaming about upgrades I want to do i.e guards, snorkel, tyres etc....
Could anyone help me with suppliers or does anyone have odds and sods laying around?
Ideally I want to upgrade tyres, DIY Snorkel?, Some lights on the Rack(front and rear working light), diff guards, hi lift jack and mounts and maybe some brush cutters? I know these cannot be used on road but can't seem to find them anywhere or are they DIY too?
I have searched/googled loads of things but being new to it all I'd love some advice from you guy's that have already purchased/made some of these things.

Thanks

i made a snorkle out of sum flexy tube from ebay, a seeled ram induction kit air filter and a large tube. works a treat!

ebay is your friend in all things....

kurt388 | eBay

however, i bought a snorkel from ebay... off a disco 300tdi...

until it arrived and it was off a 200 tdi... cost me £100 with a 2nd hand rear door ladder...

ive spent more money trying to get the snorkel to fit than it would of cost for a new southdown snorkel.. and hours sanding and paintin the ladders..

would of been better off buying new..

be warned....

Thanks guys, I was thinking ebay would be best. I did how ever manage to get hold of a 3ft long 3" stainless steel tube today, must be good for a part of a snorkel?

try paddocks or craddocks. I got me tires from silverline. Brush cutters aint all that.Wot injun you got cos if its a v8 snorkel aint worth a ****.

I wouldn't necessarily agree wiv ya there Goon. Mines got a home made snork and it works really well but if you're saying just slapping a snorkel on a V8 will make it good for deep water then you're right, you need to do a bit more than just that to make it swim.

Luck of the draw I guess but that said V8's can be temperamental with water, in most cases they just don't like it.

I've seen some get away with the odd quick dip but anything a bit longer or very deep and it's curtains. I've done Standon a few times, well over the bonnet, done Violets Lane too; now that is a challenge when it's deep.

My brother had a Beige 3 door classic 3.5 V8 and that was rubbish in water, no petrol is ever going to be great in water but would just like a snorkel for added protection, rather be safe than sorry. Plus I think they look good :)

with a bit of chop and shut the defender ones will fit fine..and look good..i have one you can buy cheap..make me an offer..

i did standon and violets lane standard a few times, the injun got really upset once. Good fun though.

Best upgrade I've bought for mine is the BF Goodrich Mud Terrain tyres, completely different vehicle off road.

Yea have to agree, a decent set of tyres is the best thing you could get, i got a set of 235/85/16 insa turbo's... makes a HUGE! difference:rofl:

Best upgrade for a classic you are collecting....

A/ Buy the full AA or RAC cover
B/ Then when you get home, give it a good service with quality service parts
C/ Fix the bits that are not working
D/ by the time C is completed, go back to A ( renew) and repeat the list

I would say all that is standard on a classic, not an upgrade haha :)
