If I replaced the hoses with a silicone hose kit would it make much difference other than visual?
No dumb comments from certain cock heads please
Depends on the colour of the Hose's
Red = -10% power
Blue = +5% power
Yellow = +10% Power
Green = Puking up everytime someone lifts the bonnet and sees them..
Purple = an extradition request from the Septics and 10years in a Merkin Jail awaiting trial that'll get dropped just as the trial start date arrives.![]()
thay dont just look good thay are way better as thay do not become poruse and leak and thay do not expand like plain rubber hoses
So if I was to fit a blue one and a yellow one would I get 15% power increase![]()
IS yu Fick?? you'd have to cut em both in half and join em together. so you'd get half the improvement of each one so 7.5% Tis simples!!![]()

Sorry :doh::doh: So do I join em back up with coloured insulation tape then![]()

Duct tape is better. but not red cos that'll just remove all the power increases..![]()
Oh god I really is fick, just remembered I aint got a hippo :doh::doh::hysterically_laughi
well as the pipe from an intercooler to a turbo is under negative pressure. due to the fact that Air is sucked thru the duct. your eggsplanation of this is gonna be interesting??

Shomshing wrongg shurely??
The flow is from the the turbo to the intercooler then to the intake manifold passing through the EGR (or the EGR by-pass).
The turbo ups the air pressure by forcing the air through the system so the air is at a greater pressure.
If you try squeezing the turbo hoses when the engine is around 2500rpm they should be rock solid - at idle you can easily compress them.
There is no suction making air pass into the intake manifold.- only the increased pressure caused by the turbo.
Air is sucked through the air intake pipe from the outer atmosphere - then through the air-filter and hence to the turbo - after which its under pressure.
Silicone hoses are therefore better - they do not swell up under pressure - they do not leak by porosity to allow oil to pass through them after long use - they are more resistant to splitting - so they last longer.
Only one drawback - no-one seems to make them in pink silicone - job opportunity for tratters here I think - as they are convinced every Freelander owner prefers pink.
