right guys i have had a welder come out and look at my rotten inner wings?? For patch work it would be labour intensive so, i am thinking of going down the route of these replacements as seen on ebay,

what do you think of them, and do they make a good job, and are they easy to weld in??

all advice welcomed

Look at my thread/Post as today I did the nearside inner wing. full panels plus headlight and body mount at the front.

They don't look right to me,the angles for and aft are very different.

Do a search on Google for YRM metals, they do kits so you can buy just the bits needed, rather than a whole new inner wing plus they are quality.

The item on eBay is chep for a reason. No returns on the front edge which will mean you can't use the flange to flange fitting. No returns to the inner wing sections that protect the engine either.

I used YRM and I can say they fit great and are thick steel. You can get just the inner wing section or the upright or all of the whole wing if you need.

They have made my job a lot easier

FFS, it's just very thin plate with two slight bends and sold at a premium from YRM.
Just buy plate, bent it and weld it!
Pattern inner wings for a disco really are a **** take...

Kin ell, I got better fings to do than make a **** load of inner wings for disco's.
Done both mine, very easily.
No need to fork out lots of cash on expensive bits of plate.
Just some advice lads, save your cash or if you have plenty by all means buy them ...;)

The inner wings from YRM are reasonably priced.

However, I did make my own inner wings from plate a few years back, and they are excellent thankyou very much, but they are not 100% original.

I did not know about YRM when I did those wings, if I was doing them again I would buy the YRM panels.

Time is money to a large extent, and also I wanted to restomod my disco, so if I could replace my inner wings with replica originals, I would rather have done that.

People who don't/can't be arsed are welcome to make their own panels because it wasn't difficult, seeing as everything is flat and mostly straight cuts.
