110tim replied to the thread Freelander 1 Annoying misfire.
not unheard of with the BMW M47 engine, my last FL1 started a misfire on a light throttle, pushing down on the throttle or letting it up even slightly cured the misfire, it would seem to be a fueling problem probably caused by the ECU...

I did look into this a couple of years ago for me n 'er indoors. Can't remember the exact details, regarding joint estates and tax which may need to be paid. I think as a married couple each has an upper limit and then inheritance tax has to be...

Haha was watching to see if anyone comes back with the 200tdi in a series 2 , I did the 200di in a series 3 which was simpler as you can use the S3 exhaust manifold and exhaust , radiator , keep the oil bath filter and a battery under bonnet if...

No it was a manual plier type thing, tried it once and once realised how crap it was have never used it since.

I got most of my info from Glen Anderson who had posted on terri ann land rover page, which is a goldmine of info. Here is link to Glens conversion, Iirc his is a 109 which is why he used the defender manifolds...

BTW, just for a laugh, I googled the amount of energy required. Surely burning that amy energy in petrol is gonna put the same strain or wear on the engine regardless of rpm. . . . . .but I'm not the right scientist

Have you drilled the flywheel housing for the bottom 2 or 4 bolts? Exhaust I made my own, but think Steve parker used to do a kit. Rad I used the original s2 one, mine is the early narrow type and keeps it cool just fine. I did fit the...

Yes you could. May be worth chatting with dvla to see what to do. On the rear bodywork is there a number plate ?

You're always gonna get comment (some good, some bad & some scarcastic) on this forum, but often good info based on extensive knowledge & experience. If we assume the engine uses more fuel when it working harder (regardless of revs) & producing...

Got the buggers out. They don't look in bad condition, got me wondering if it's a leak with the pipes or the matrix itself. Anyways, what size o rings have people been using as a replacement? I've got some that are the same diameter but a...

Starting new thread on this. Some will know I am doing a 200tdi conversion to Series 2. Just finished rebuilding the engine which was stressful enough but basically I have hit a brick wall. Think the rest is going to be much more harder. I knew...

It's not had the clips tightened at the right moment or position and is under vacuum. 👍

Understood, most on here are happy to maintain what they have. Although there are a few that dabble in mods to suit there needs. You may be the first to change out diffs in an l322. Most of the time it's the series vehicles that change them. 😊

Oh god, of course. I read that last year when I was thinking to buy one. Hmmm. That ruins my plan. I guess the V3 iCarSoft for £160 and try to sell my V2 iCarSoft to someone, that does not write data to the car.

Before I bought my OBD reader I looked into this but I do not have a Windows laptop. I saw some cables with laptop on eBay but they were all for the later model cars, not for my 2002 L322. I bought the V2 iCarSoft because the company said that...

Was it a cheap air one, as was looking at one may I ask? Yes less is better enough to cut out rust

Ah. Thanks Phil. That puts things in to perspective for me. We have no idea where the V5 would be. Could we get one with a VIN No.?

I think this image is it, for the BMW equivalent M62, showing a straight line due to vanos? I normally do not get over 1,500 RPM in my daily driving, so I am barely using the power of the car, but I feel no need to do that. Given that the...

If you have a registration it may help. Otherwise it’s a project worth £1-2k at the most. Can only be sold as spares if no v5 or vin plate

You could put a tap in one of the coolant lines, most are 15mm id, which is what most UK houses run for hot and cold water circuits, so shoudl be a cheap/easy job. But I would check the cooling diagram schematics first in case the heater circuit...

Most people with the GAP tool will be vin locked to their vehicle, you can add extra vins for 60 odd quid each.
