Also for info I have spliced the yellow wire in the images shown above to the H'beam feed roughly 2"...
Don't presume the new battery is any good, I had a Bosch one which failed within a week.
If you have a flat battery, jump it and leave it running with the charge light on it will still be flat, well flatter, than when you started it.

Todays sitrep, timing kit fitted, new thermostat and water pump fitted. New fuel injector pipes and front hubs all assembled, along with drilled and vented discs and a set of heavy duty steering arms. All in all a very productive Sunday.
That's similar to how I remember my brownchurch rack fitted.
Looking at the OPs photo there doesn't appear to be anything on the legs to attach the gutter clamp part to?
Check that you have voltage to the relevant terminals on your nearside headlight.
Check that the headlight unit is grounded correctly.
Check the fuses.
The trouble is once you depart from the standard setup no-one knows how your current setup...
Swap head light bulbs. It could be that high beam has blown on your current nearside?
Also check fuses, I seem to remember each headlight is fused separately.

I drilled and helicoiled the studs on mine years ago, not a bad job just awkward access.
Dewebbed mine and drilled all the holes bar two slightly oversize, plus used nuts with built in washers that would allow it to shuffle around a bit in use...
