Hi All

2004 V8 4.4 M62 Range Rover Vogue - 120,000 miles.

I changed the oil and filter about 4,000 miles ago and, like Saint in his how-to guide, only got 4.25 litres out of the sump.

This week I've just started to get the dreaded torque converter lock-up clutch buzz. So today I changed the g/box oil. Again, I only got 4.25 litres out.

It seems to have improved a bit, but its definitely still there.

Is 4.25 litres typical? I was thinking of doing another change, but at 50.00 a throw, I don't know if its worth it.

Followed Saint's how-to. Cycle through PRND slowly until it trickles out the fill hole. Check temp is between 30 and 40"C
Oh - engine running

Full capacity from empty is around 9.9 litres, a typical fluid change is around 6 litres according to the RAVE manuals...

Thanks Saint. That's my point really. I'm not getting anywhere near 6 litres out. Has anyone managed to get more than 4.25~4.50 out.

Just had mine changed by my garage and each drain was about 4.5 to 5.0 litres, if you drop the sump there could be another litre there. All you are doing with a drain is removing some of the oil each time and then the new oil is mixing with the old stuff. Only way to completely change is with a 'mega flush' or as I had done: drain, refill, drain, refill etc (cycling oil each time) using about 18 to 20 litres of LT71141.
