Wurth Manifold Bolts

i bought a set of Wurth manifold bolts a month or so ago and finally got around to doing it after getting the manifold skimmed.

The came with copper lock nuts and I found when fitting that all of the ends of the threads were stripped a bit by the copper nuts. One stripped the threads before it had even got to 25nm and then the stud snapped when it was undone.

I have read everywhere how great these studs are so is it likely I've just bought some cheap Chinese s**t that's being sold as Wurth?

Did the destructions say use copper slip?

I'm not convinced they were wurth ones that I got. They shouldn't snap that easy

Wurth would like to know if fakes are out there.... might give yu a set by way of thanks. I am certain they would like yours to investigate.

They like to know if someone is selling cheese replicas of their stuff ....

If they were sold to you as Wurth, then you should care a bit ....

I wasn't saying I didn't care, just that I've ordered some more that are coming in a Wurth box as I need them now. I can deal with the broken ones later in the week. If they want me to send them in I can.

These came today, they look a bit different. Hopefully they'll do the trick

Bit of a concern! I ordered some a good while back, only fitted on stud tho as why tempt fate by trying remove non-snapped ones! Haha. I did however use all the copper nuts

Fitting was fine for me and quality looked good. Though ill double check.

Out of interest where did you buy both sets from?

Both from eBay! I think the first ones definitely aren't right I'll ask wurth what they reckon
