Dya think anyone would buy my Rangie classic
Its a V8 3.9 auto on gas with four nearly new tyres and I will put 12 months test on it.
The chassis is very good and it has a wad of history, the body is good but has a few scratches, everything works and it has just had a new heated windscreen put in.
It has also got stainless four branch headers and a stainless system with a brand new straight through long stainless box off a Megane sport on it. Sounds like a TVR but you cant have everything can you.
Owt else.... errrr,, front diff gaurd, tree slider sills, unplugable elecrics for when you take the tow bar off to go laning.
Bit of a shed compared to a P38 but it dont get hot or use water even after towing a BMW on a trailer for 150 miles, temp needle rock steady however hot the day is. It uses a little oil but then I dont hang about in it and it works hard, I've put a litre in it in a month . Probably be better when I change the oil and filter as it's due.
It needs an oil seal on the off side sphere but be doing that next week for the mot and it had new rear brake discs not long ago.
Can't find much good to say about it really but if you want a good offroader that sounds absolutely gorgeous and aint to bothered about cosmetics then this is for you, even the tilt and slide sunroof works.
Whats it worth then , owt or nowt ?:)

You could always put it in the for sale section and find out:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::nospamhere::nospamhere::nospamhere:

Not too good at advertising things so thought I would test the water so to speak and see if it was worth advertising or spend some money on it first.:)

I am interested, I presume its on air shocks though? as you said about the sphere oil seal or am I barking up the wrong tree?

Can I have some pictures, I will pm you my email.

Is there any body rust? if so , where?

Thanks

John

It's a 1990 on springs, the oil seal is weeping on the shiney ball on the front axle.
There is some body rust, it's been welded on the back wheel arches, not the best of jobs but I wasn't bothered when I bought it as it was to fill in whilst I got the 110 on the road, It's had a new radiator and the gearbox has done 70 thousand miles out of the rangies total of 160k but clunks a bit when selecting reverse if its hot. Needs the oil changing and then I'll see if it's ok as it's fine when cold.
Be a good one to save and restore as it's been looked after if you know what I mean, or you could trust it to go off roading in comfort.
It's running on propane at the moment but I'll get my man to convert it
back to LPG (easy job just a pipe and an olive)
I was just wondering if it would be worth selling on here when I've tested it or slinging it on fleabay, but if someone wants it then I'll get some pics up tomorrow then I can get on with me 110.

Of course it will sell just depends on the difference between what you think its worth and what someone else is willing to pay. The old haggle/barter system....50p....;)

Never looked at it like that:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Whats it worth then, if you was looking for such a steed.

To get an idea have a look on ebay, autotrader local rags etc. That should give you a ball park figure on what it's worth.
Thing is, not everyone is honest about the condition when they stick it on fleabay, rotten chassis etc.
I know my chassis is good, the car may not be the most pretty machine out there if you know what I mean.

Perhaps it would be better to strip it as I know a guy who wants the engine.
What do you reckon a good rolling chassis is worth ?

Hi mate,
Tom's trundling down the A7 with a big grin on his face as we speak.
I know how much I want for it but the question is how much is it worth? I would like seven hundred quid for it but is it worth that with twelve months test and four nearly new tyres and a full tank of gas and valeted or am I wasting my time and need to tidy it up a bit, that's the question.:):)

700.00 sounds like a senable starting point for a haggle, so 50p out of the question then.....;)........

Any motor with a years ticket worth 300.00

I agree with that and the tyres as well, plus newish radiator and the gas conversion, prob well worth 500 as it's been well maintained, props greased regular etc and wads of receipts and mots.

wish I wasn't selling now.:D

P.S. Carpets up tomorrow for pics of any rot
