Wobbly Mushroom

Eve'nin all...

For a while, I've notive my breather/filler cap doesn't fit that well.. in fact it wobbles about all over the place and lets oil pop out sometimes.

I read somewhere about taking the rubber seal off it, and wrapping some electrical tap round the cap before putting the seal back on, so as to 'pad' the seal a bit. But for the life of me, I can't get the seal off.

Is it time for a new mushroom that fits? I suspect the one I've got is aftermarket, hence the bad tolerances.

The seal wears. I had the same problem with mine - the deal just pops off, mine was stuck down but it came off eventually.

You can buy new mushrooms complete though

cheers chaps.. I'll have to try harder, I just couldn't get the seal off. There was a lip at the bottom of the cap that kept it firmly on. Maybe soak it in boiling water first will help.
