I cut the rear right hand wiring loom whilst taking the back cross member off my td5 defender. The fitter has re wired it however it wont go. when he charges the battery and has the battery on charge whilst he turns the key it starts but as soon as he lets the key go from ignition it turns off! Is this because its wired wrong or it needs a new battery? Please help

More likely to be a faulty ignition switch!
I've had one which switched off as soon as you released the key. Easily replaced.
