ok so ive had my disco 2 td5 for about 2 weeks now, ive done a few fixes, exhaust manifold gasket and 3 broken studs, decat, centre box removal and egr replacement and drivers window motor. i love the way it drives but the wipers are driving me mad, they bang against the pillar and scuttle on every stroke, I'm asuming the linkage is fubar, the question i have is can you buy the linkage on its own as the motor is fine, i have done a load of searches but im having no luck.
this is my first LD :eek:as ive always been a jap 4x4 driver(4 pajeros and a navara d22) and your web site is great for tips and hints, so any help with my problem will be appreciated:D:D
cheers

Probably loose bolts that hold the wiper motor to the wiper assembly. Causes a " clunk " every time the wiper changes direction.

Mine was wiper bliss after I tightened them up.

How would I get at the wiper assembly 50 pence I have a clunk on mine was thinking it may need a drop of oil but will try that first

I know it sounds crazy, but I took the bonnet off !!.

Its only four bolts to undo, and then just lift it off.
Once the bonnet is off its really easy to remove the wiper arms and then the scuttle panel. Once this is iff you can get at the wiper assembly no problems.
With the bonnet and scuttle panel off it is really easy to inspect the whole winscreen and bulkhead area which are prone to letting in water.

Cheers.

Thanks for that I have a drop of water sometimes matt so may be I can do that as well. Was it easy to line the bonnet up when you put it back on.

Super easy !!.

I just drew around the hinges with a pencil before I removed it.
The bonnet is aluminium and surprisingly light.
