Long and short.....
I need new wipers, I tried refills for my rear wiper simply as it was such a rare fitment at the time I couldn't find a replacement. It has a weird ball and socket fitment.

The refills I had were too wide.. can you still get refills suitable for Defender wipers ?

I also see SILBLADE are noted as been good, however they replace the whole blade which is ok for the front 2 but doesn't help me with my rear.

My rear wiper is .. er .. not there anymore ... the front I just buy cheap and often, refills or blades, whatever's on offer. My trouble is using them a lot when it's muddy, so they wear quickly, then letting it stand for a month or so, then out again in the mud/crap/bushes etc so even high quality blades never seem to last long.

Thanks Paul,
Which refills did you purchase do you recall ?

No idea, they were either from Aldi/Lidl or Tesco. If they're cheap enough I buy complete wipers and just take the new blades out to cut them down and if necessary just crimp them into the metal slider bit .. If they're really cheap I buy a couple or so pairs ....

Me = tight b'stard ..;)

What I do keep meaning to do is replace both the front wipers with this conversion from Megasquirt, which gives much better water flow over the screen and I guess will really help me with the dry but mucky screen! Somewhere in either of the videos he mentions which set of wipers he uses too ... ;)

Cheap and cheerful britpart ones are okay, buy half a dozen at a time as none of them seem to last long.

For your rear refills used to be available in 2 widths, another trick is to buy cheap any wiper and remove the blade/stainless strips and swap over, did this yesterday with one for me boat as proper one sill money.

Sorted... my misunderstanding was as my remaining refills from the refill pack wouldn't fit my rear blade.. However upon purchasing a new pack of refills there are 2 narrow and 2 wide.... so clearly I had used the narrow previously... job done. 2 9 quid Bosch for the front, and a pack of refills for the rear.

Just need to sort intermittent lack of full sweep on the drivers side wiper, any ideas ? I find it odd its intermittent, its better with lots of water on it so seems as though its weak ?
