Morning all,

I have a 1970 2A 88' and i'm trying to figure out the wiring on it...

It is relativley standard, and hasnt been messed with too much.

I've got everything working well except for the wipers. I've done as much research as I can online and all i seem to find is that all series 2/3's used a rotary wiper switch, however mine is using a 2 speed toggle switch and a seperate toggle for the washers.

At some point, this set up worked but its not been used for 15 years and as i have been restoring the car, i've pulled the wires off etc etc etc.

Is it likey the toggle switch set up is standard and if so, how to i wire it without going through 1000 fuses?!

Or should i just buy a rotary switch and wire that up?

Help!

Thanks in advance folks!

P.S - The switches i have are the usual lucas ones and the wires i have are:
Black earth, solid green live (which goes to the motor also), green and orange to wiper motor.
Wiper motor has 3 connectors - 1,2 and E

Stick a bit of wire to earth (E) and then another bit from a live feed to terminal 1 and you should get the slow speed. To terminal 2 you should get the fast speed.

The 2 speed toggle switch should be OK for your wipers and the spring return toggle would be fine for your washers.

If you don't have a dedicated fuse, take a live switched feed via a relay and wire your wiper switch through that.

Thanks guys, I'll give this a go later...

Do you know which terminals on the lucas 2 speed switch i should be using? They are numbered but tbh, i've no idea whats what and i'd rather save time and fuses...

thanks again!

If you have the 5-pin switch, the terminals are as follows:

1 - Earth
2 - Auto Park switch
3 - Fast
4 - Auto Park +ve supply
5 - Slow

Have a look at this Linky

Cheers buddy! i'll have a tinker later....

Just want to get it sorted now as its the only electrical thing that doesnt function..

Thanks again
