Morning all,

I'll be getting around to fitting the wipers on my S3 soon, but have only managed to source the two smaller parts of the tubing that the wiper cable runs inside of.

I have the old longer piece (which is unusable) that I have dropped into a shop to be replicated, but I'm unsure if the bend/kink in the original I meant to be there.

Can anyone confirm if the longer tube which runs between the two spindle boxes is meant to be straight?

If anyone has one to hand, a measurement from end to end would be great too.

Thanks

From looking at this parts diagram, it seems like the bend is meant to be there to allow one of the boxes to be inserted, therefore making them sweep in opposite directions.

Can anyone confirm please?

Whilst we're discussing them.. how are the spindle boxes secured to the bulkhead? I see the larger outer nut that goes from the outside, but it looks like there should be two extra screws/bolts to stop them rotating in situ?

It is only the big nut, don't lean on it to hard. The tubes are what stops the box from rotating. Tube has a slight bend at both ends.

Thanks, will see what comes back from the pipe shop. Can always ask them to tweak it if it's not quite right.

Here is a pic of mine, I don't think it's together properly bit it was just to keep all the parts together.

Thanks, looks straight enough that if the guys just knock it up close enough, I'll be able to bend it very slightly when fitting.
