Window catches series 3

Afternoon, I'm just getting round to fitting my window catches, they've been sat in place since I got her, before I start drilling, is there a better quality nicer looking catch that will fit in their place or are these my only choice.

I thought as much, been surfing the web for hours, was hoping to find some nice galvanised ones or something a bit stronger.

sure I have seen some where people just cut a piece of wood to fit in the channel when the window is closed which stops it being slid open.

Goes in the channel between the edge of the moving bit of glass and the bulkhead end of the door obviously. might be easier than faffing about drilling holes

You can buy suitably sized plastic strip to go in, add a knob to help remove if needed ...

You could cover the holes and fit series 2 metal catches that fit on the frame at the top of the window.

Make sure they work before you fit them, the quality is variable and I found I needed to fettle them a bit to get them to slide. Also grease them, I had one of the roll pins corrode and jam the lock, very hard to get the lock out once that happens.
