Hi
Just wondering if the axle from a TD5 will fit onto a 200/300 tdi defender? just making sure!

Are the wheel-stud centres the same?

In the TD5 Disco the PCD (pitch circle diameter) of the wheels studs is a lot smaller than previous Discos.

It would be a shame to do all that work only to find your wheels don't fit any longer!

Td5 Discovery has a completely different axle
Td5 Defender, basically the same, just detail differences
I cannot confirm either will or will nor fit, but would expect the Defender ones to. At some point the Td5 110s stoped using a Salisbury at the back, so there could be propshaft issues.

Hi Guys, sorry to hi-jack! I have not made the newbe mistake off posting Qs without searching :)

I was searching to see what axles will fit my 1986 90. Originally a 2.5td now a 300tdi thanks to prev owner.
I want to fit boost wheels and rear discs and my research brought me to ask the Q which axles will fit!
This subject seems a bit of a mind field given you can also use Disco and RR axles but then there's the issue with Prop shafts.

So does anyone know of a point of reference anywhere on the net where someone has listed all the axles that will fit?

I have found for sale a set of TD5 axles - is this a stragt swap and the prop shafts slide straigh into the diffs??

any help for the newbe with his first Landy appreciated

All 90 axles are interchangeable. And to most extent all 110's, although the rear axle is a HD one, earlier ones used a Dana 60 copy called a Salisbury. Latter ones used a Range Rover p38a derivative that is a Rover based axle.

Disco 1 and RRC use the same axles as a 90.

D2 is completely different. As are p38a Range Rover axles.

But if you are prepared to cut and weld, almost any can be made to work.
