Hi all,

I'm just wondering what body I can stick on a 90 200TDI chassis, thanks to Foxyred I know fitting a TD5 body wont be too complicated, but I have just seen a rather nice body which is from a TDCI (2009 apparently), so I'm just wondering if this will require any addition welding to the chassis as I do not want to weld on to the chassis.

I'm guessing it wont be a straight fit but it's worth an ask..

Many thanks

The body will fit, the problems start with bulkhead and tcdi dash as the 200tdi gear stick fouls the dash. Can be sorted but easier to fit the older dash to tcdi bulkhead than mod the gear leaver/puma dash

Yes the tdci body will fit
you could also keep your side tank as I have done
Although I did still use the original bulkhead

If you use the tdci bulkhead it's not all gloom, you can fit a disco r380 and it stops the dash fouling the gear levers. That's what I've done, the stick sits further back about where the seatbox edge is and then you can have the awesome tdci heater too. No vents to rot either
Mines a 300 chassis then mix of tdci and td5 body fit fine
Plus you get a better ratio disco transfer box nicer to drive

That's nice to know, and maybe something I can think of at a later stage, however I have already got a gearbox and transfer box from Ashcroft transmission, so I'm unfortunately not in a position to buy another one and on top of that I bought a TD5 bulkhead...... I wish I had known that a while ago lol

Too late  I know people have done auto boxes aswell to make fit but don't like autos. @GATSO has a good build thread for one you should check it out I think he rebuilt the selector housing so it even fits in the same place as the tdci gearbox with the levers side by side where as mine is the same as a disco with a longer stick with gears at back transfer high low at front. It does present a few mods that need doing but makes an interesting build
Hope yours goes well :D
