Hi peeps,

Changed the oil/oil filter and rotary oil filter on the 90 (TD5) yesterday - Now when I turn off the engine it whirrs loudly to a standstill for about 20 sec......Why is this?

Help! :)

Its supposed to. Its just the rotor in the centrifugal filter winding down. It is driven by oil pressure and can hit 15,000 rpm so takes a while to slow down. The fact that you can hear it means it is spinning and if its spinning its working.
Your old one was probably clogged and did not spin.

Cheers Shifty, yeah the old one never made any noise! Probably fubar-ed.....

My landy had only one previous owner....and he was a farmer - Oil was BLACK when it came out....Nice new oil in now tho :)
