I have just brought a second hand set of 2" lift springs. Theyre only a year old, some paint peeling and very light surface rust.

2 of the springs are thicker than the other 2. Do these thicker ones go at the front or the back?

Once i have that sorted, are the springs 'handed'?

Thicker coils on back.

Depends on the make if they are handed or not, put them together if 2 are taller fit them to the drivers side .

Awesome thank you.

Does it matter which way up i put them?

At the end of each coil there is a notch cut out of the spring, maybe that signifies top and bottom?

Probably doesn't matter up or down cos usually they're not that advanced on a disco!

See if you can work out the notch, but I've not seen or noticed a notch on springs in past.

Cheers.

just take your old ones off and match them up to your new ones they will b the same size but just stiffer i did exactly the same

first find out who the springs come from, britpart bearmach if you find this out check with them. on a plus 2" britpart and bearmach springs the rears are usually 16mm wire and slightly longer and fronts are 17MM wire. i am in the middle of changing from britpart to bearmach. those wire sizes were quoted to me from mm 4x4 who supplied them. and generally they are not handed.
some oem parts however are. I think this is correct .

I think the problem is they are not handed!

Mine leant over 2 days after fitting new bearmach 3" lift kit!

With the winch, Rocksliders etc etc, the front right corner has drooped about an inch, maybe more :(

Its annoying me so much now I'm gonna have to fit a spacer of some sort.

Cheers!

Terrafirma springs are 10mm longer for the drivers side

It seems enough to make the disco sit level at the front .

Good idea! It's a right pain, new springs and it's droopy as fook.

I have no idea why it droops on drivers side, the engine sits to the left, I have twin batteries, and I hadn't driven it when it drooped so it can't have been torque.

No idea why its always drivers side, are they THAT badly balanced??!?
