Right, first post so hi to all. The girlfriend wants her freelander (53) "to look more of a beast" and refered to the look of my Discovery which has been highly modified. She currently has the 17 inch alloys and road tyres.
Having read on here I will need to get some 16inch alloys in order to fit the bf goodrich all terrains i want to fit. My question is what are the largest tyres and hub centric wheel spacer combination I could fit. I understand one member fitted 225/70/r16 all terrain tyres on a standard freelander with no rub (?), would these fit with 30mm spacers??? The vehicle only goes light off roading so there would be no need for a lift. Thanks in advance Tom

The rub would probably be on the inner edge of the tyre on the cone for the spring. I have h&r 30mm spacers on one freelabder and they bring the wheels in line to the edge of the plastic. Pain in the arse to keep your car clean.

If you get spacers you can put bigger tyres on. Ses88 and discodo have pretty big tyres

I've got 235/70/16 BFG's on mine, but I have modulars and a 2" lift.....I would think 225/75/16 would fit with 30mm hubcentric spacers. :)

Where are you located? Someone nearby may let you try there wheels on.

Many thanks for the replies, I am based in Cirencester in the Cotswolds. Looks like I'm going to try some 225 75 16s with 30mm spacers then. Shall report back with some before and after shots to give others an idea of the difference. :)
