Hi all

One of the rear right studs is turning freely and comes off with the nut. What's the remedy for this? Can it be welded in place from the back or is it a new hub? Also is it safe to drive home slowly a mile?

Thanks all

The studs on mine are splined where the hub grips the stud. If you're lucky the splines on the stud are stripped and a new stud will sort the problem, if not the hub is stripped and you might as well fix it in position with a spot of weld or two 'cos it'll be cheaper than replacing the hub.

Replacement studs are designed to pull in your original will have been screwed in then peened over at the rear.
You have to take the hub off to fit new ones , it has been known for people to screw old on in and put a spot weld on rear to stop it coming out , stud will not be dangerous as long as threads in hole are still sound.
The pull in version require hub drilling may also be the later larger size depending what year your current hubs are.
