P38A Whats the implication of swapping the Becm.

Since having a accident of milk going over my BECM, and the result of this is things turning off or not turning on, members opinions is to change my BECM.
1 So do I have to get one with the same code L AMR 6000?
2 Will I have to send both away to someone to change info from my old BECM?
3 Do I need to buy other components compatible to the replacement BECM?
4 What prices should I be paying, ebay prices are £40 to £200.....why?

It will need the info writing from one to the other, unfortunately Martyuk is now working away for some time, so best to talk to @Rick-the-Pick who runs Callrover down in Hove he is the man.

Marty or Rick can fix them.
Replacement can be done if necessary but will that need refurbish also before long
