What TD5 Disco to buy???

Hi,
I am looking at up grading my tired 1993 300tdi disco for a td5. I am unsure weather to buy an early model (1999-2001) or spend a bit more on a face lift model (2003 onwards)? I have heard they are a lot more reliable.
Also I am not sure weather to go with a manual or automatic???

Any advice would be gratefully received thanks.

Personal preference really. You will pay a premium for having the facelift version which only you can justify. I personally prefer the manual gearbox on the Discovery2 Td5.

How much are you looking at spending?

Looking to spend no more than £6,500 if possible? I don't mind one with some mileage on the clock as long as it is tidy.
