May sound a daft question, as normally bigger is better, but looking at getting a high lift jack, and one that preferably can be mounted on my dog guard inside the cabin.
I run with a 2" lift on 265/70/16 AT BFG's.
Do I really need the larger 60" one - will this be a better buy than the 48" one?

Any experiences you can share?

Cheers

A 48" HiLift has served me well for about 25 years. Ample tall enough for most recovery, slewing out of ruts etc. Do you know how FRIGHTENINGLY unstable a hi-lift is in use? Anything above a couple of feet off the ground is dangerous - even if you know what you are doing. Unless you intend to get a big lump of chain and use it as a hand winch you shouldn't need a big one.
