Hi all

Now i know you are all going to say look in the manual, but i havnt got the vehicle yet but hopefully will have tomorrow and want to service it straight away.

So i need to know what oils the diff,gear box, transfer box and engine use please?

Petrol?

Diesel?

V8?

give us a clue and you might get a decent answer.

It's hard to say as we don't know what year of disco or what engine or gearbox but most major oil comapnies has a search facility to help you, also do a search in the forum.

Hi Kyle, don't mind the others, they're all bitter and twisted. I'm assuming it's a manual gearbox?

Engine: 7 ltrs of 10w-40 semi synth

Gearbox: 2.5 ltrs of MTF 94

Transfer box: 2.5ltrs EP 80w-90 GL5

Each axle: 1.7 ltrs of EP80w-90 GL5

So you'll need 6 ltrs of EP

A set of filters from Paddock at £6.50+vat (oil, air and fuel)

You'll need a 32mm ring spanner for the sump plug and a Tork T55 for the level/fill plug of the gearbox.

Just a thought. The chrome balls may be filled with one shot grease. No problems with topping up these with hypoid oils. Make sure you grease the joints on the prop shafts.
