Hi all,

This breather dropped out of the underside of my car a couple of days ago (1999 P38 DSE). I have been all over and underneath looking for a hole and a pipe missing a cover...nothing. I have looked at every picture in the RR manual...nothing. Do any of you experts recognise it??

Cheers, John

Long shot but it isn't a petrol tank vent cap is it?

It's very clean, what have you had serviced recently ?
I do my own servicing so would hopefully have recognised it if I had taken it off. But, you are right, it is very clean which makes it all the more confusing since it came from underneath.

Underneath, as found on the floor ?

or higher up, trapped on a mount or undertray ?

So, thanks to Flossie, the mystery is solved, and don't I feel a d**khead! I use a wheeled compressor to charge the air bags (due to long-standing and ongoing battle with EAS). I went to check that compressor and, what do you know, it was missing it's breather. How it came to drop out from under my car remains a mystery, as the compressor stays on the floor in use, I will never know, but at least the mystery is solved. Thanks to all for your comments, I will now go and buy a new IQ cos this one is worn out. Cheers, John
