What engine and are they any good?

Hi

Sorry for this and I will wait for the telling off from all you defender experts but could someone please tell me which engine would be fitted in a 1991 110 tdi? Assuming it is original I am guessing it would be the old engine before the 200tdi came out ~ am I correct?

Are they any good or should I go for one with an engine swap for a 200 or 300 engine fiited?

Should be a 200 tdi I think and there the best engine they made

200tdi came out in 1990 so being (91) it is a 200tdi.
300tdi came out in 1994
