I did it! I bought a range rover! Picking it up in the next coupld days. hopefully I wont regret it... I got a '96 4.0ltr SE with multi point LPG system (no certificate tho - do you actually need one? does anyone know how much it costs to get one?) other than that, it seems to be completely standard, which is lovely. No tinted windows. No '22" rims, yo'. even has the orange indicators still, but i think i'll get the clear ones when i get a chance, and maybe some running boards/side steps.
I was just wondering what I should be getting for it now? EAS cable? I'll be giving it a full service, so is there anything odd i'll need for that?
Thanks!

go out and buy another car same model etc as you will need a full car to replace the bits !

i would wait till things crop up, cocentrate on getting it serviced on gas and petrol sides first!

Well I picked up the rangie last night and drove about 100miles and it was perfect! Took a bit of getting used to after driving my girlfriends KA for the last 3 months. Woke up this morning and jumped in again and it had an EAS fault, but I remembered reading that sometimes you can leave it and come back and it will clear itself, which luckly it did - phew! Only other thing is I had an 'alternator fault' come up briefly but then vanished once the engine started...

check all the leads and especially earth and battery connections, clean em up if needed and tighten battery leads. get your eka code if you havnt already got it as no doubt you will need it at some point. if the alternator is on its way out, whe you replace it you will have to use eka code if you take battery off!

i can almost guarentee that if you sort the electrical connections the alternator fault will go away!

Nice one, thanks for that! Do you know roughly the price of an alternator should it need one? I'll have a dig around in there on the weekend and see what I come up with. I can already see Range Rover ownership will be interesting... :p
