what are the best screwdriver bits for a cordless impact driver, Just brought some silverline diamond bits and shatered one first try. im using a 24v cordless impact driver with a 1/2" Drive it has a lot of power and i need something i will get my moneys worth from. any recomendations?? :)

Dewalt standard ones as wera or what ever they are called are too expensive for the time they last even though impact rated

Silverline is real budget stuff - i bought their dovetail jig and it does OK but is very tatty, all their stuff is the real bottom end of the market and i'm afraid you get what you pay for (within reason!)

Also there are 1/4" AND 5/16" . bits. they seem to have the 5/16" for the 1/2" drive impact driver, silverline do have a lifetime guarantee but the cost to keep taking thinks back would soon mount up.

I have just brought a snap on screw driver bit (impact) No3 pozi sat on a 3/8" Drive for £4.99 on a offer from fleebay, i have a 1/2" to 3/8" impact reducer so the size is no problem.

Dewalt... do they use a bit lock system dedecated to just there power tools with there screwdrivewr bits?

Wera will outlast virtually any other make, it's one thing they're good at, but i'm talking about building work

What are you using it for?

I agree with Fanny.

The De-Walt PZ2,s in a 25no. box from Screwfix seem to last really well in my Makita Impact driver, and are well priced.

The best ones I,ve ever had were by Wurth, but they were very expensive.

Even if you get a good one that lasts and doesnt shatter under the impact action, after a while they lose thier " edge " and " cam out " more under load.

Del. ( the chippy ! ).

Just re-read this.

If your using a 24v 1/2" drive Impact wrench, then the torque from this will be waaay more than any screwdriver bit can withstand.

i18v impact drivers produce around 150 Nm, De-Walts 18v Impact wrench produces 418 Nm !.
