i have read that you can get a shudder from the streering if the hockey stick bushes are out...... where is it on the car and what does it look like (stupid question i know) my mate works for volvo trucks and i asked him and said he didnt have a clue !!!! is it a range rover slang name?

The hockey sticks you mention are the front radius arms on Range Rovers, Discoverys and Defenders, there are two of them.

They hook over the front axle and are bolted to the chassis rails at the rear. They stop the car from axle steer and for and aft movement.

The bushes in the front end can wear out and will give the car a loose feel and possibly clunks when you take up the drive.

When you take them off the car to change the bushes you will notice that they have the shape of a hockey stick.
