Hi All, I have a problem with my Discovery 300TDI which is over heating, but only when the engine is warm. I recently bought it for a charity car rally and since have been tearing my hair out. The engine runs fine with no noise, no smoke but the heater never blows hot air and the engine temp is fine for a while and then all of a sudden she overheats and theres so much pressure in the expansion tank it blows the PRV. I thought it was a air lock in the syatem and so bleed the system and tried again. This proved ok for a while then she did it again.
When i take the bleed screw from the thermostat housing the coolant has always got air pulsing from it but theres no coolant in the oil. I've carried out a coolant pressure test at 10 PSI and it held fine so now I'm thinking Head Gasket or Head.
If anyone has any ideas I would be grateful as I have 2 weeks to get this sorted brfore motoring around Europe in her!! (all for charity)
