Hello all, I really, really, really..... yes that badly want to learn to weld.

Im in swansea and was wondering if there is anyone local is willing to teach me the basics on your own time scale?

Im willing to pay a small fee ( i would just pay fora course if i had lots of money or i also can also offer trade for trade type thing either free labour to those that need it of im also an aprentice tree surgeon so logs and that type of thing are no problem.

If anyone can help just pm me your details and i will get in contact with you and we can sort something out:)

Thanks :D

have you been on youtube theres loads of welding tutorial videos on there [nomedia="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kJrBxABswjs"]YouTube - how to mig weld, or wire feed weld.[/nomedia]

yep, as above...

youtube and mig weld forum...and loads of practise on scrap metal.
you'll soon get the hang of it..

also, get an auto darkening mask, they are brilliant when you are learning to weld as you can see exactly where you are when about to start

I need to weld up my Landy so decided to teach myself how to weld. I happened to get hold of a arc welder and had a practise on some scrap metal.

First go I'd give myself 0.5 out of 10 - just for effort. Subsequently improved whilst adjusting amps etc. and by the end of the day was happy with a weld. More practise needed. You'll be hunting around for scrap metal when you get the chance. It's easier to weld thicker metal (I understand), so might be worth starting with that. Good luck and have fun!
