Weight of an engine ?

Does anyone fancy taking a guess of the weight of a range rover p38 6 cylinder 2.5td (BMW) lump? got to send it on a pallet and guesses from people at work are all over the place.

I was thinking half a ton (500 kg) my work mate said 3/4 of a ton.

This link is for a Yanmar 6BY marine engine. It is the same 3litre straight 6 that BMW put in the X5 so its probably pretty close to what you've got weight wise.
They quote 310kg without the transmission.
