one of the few comments resulting from todays service - and not an unreasonable one having spent several months parked at the coast with the salty air an' all - was that it would be a good idea if i gave my undercarriage a spray with "wax oil" to nip any nascant rust spots in the bud

anyone know any trade names for suitable stuff - all i can find on google is treatments for wooden flooring which i'm guessing may not be quite up to the job...

thanks

Hammerite if your going to paint it on by hand or have a compressor to use a shutz gun (ebay £15) it will cost about £8 for a litre I think for that stuff, you would probably need two...

If you are going to buy it in spray cans then get this stuff from screwfix, its only £2.99 a can and I rekon 5 would do it. Its probably the only spray paint that doesn't clog and go all stupid after you have used it once; considering its thick waxy stuff thats pretty good!

i don't know ware you are based but these a garage in blackpool that specializes in bommer taxis. known in the trade as desial dave.
he does underseeling etc.
il try and find his number and postit.

dirty filthy job.mush rarther leave it to someone else.

Is that waxoyl stuff any good for a general covering over the bottom of the car? I found it made a bloody mess so I only sprayed it inside things.

On my list of things to do over the summer is to underseal my disco and was planning on using the paint-on hammerite underseal (which has waxoyl in it).

Any thoughts?
