Right well I can get an OE for about 80 quid (ouch ) or an aftermarket for 20 odd quid anybody any advice also how can you tell if the waterpump has stopped working I have no noise and no overheating but there is no evidence of it working as usual any advice good or bad relevant or not taken on the chin:D

if theres no noise and no overheating then whats the problem:confused:
if theres noise and overheating then worry, if theres a leak on it then worry.
if you are paying £20 for a waterpump make sure it doesn't say britpart on it or the box:rolleyes:

sorry gents 4.6 its just that I topped up the coolant ran it and the expansion tank water was clear no sign of anifreeze and I know it is in there coz I put it there in Nov

well something moving the coolant about if you look in expansion bottle a litte over flow pipe from rad goes into it you can see it flowing when engines running proves pumps working

yep know the one had to replace it last summer thats the problem there is nothing coming through it will have a fiddle about tomorrow thing is I would rather lob 80 quid on a new water pump than fook the engine
