Glad you had a good day Will, all the work has paid off :)

Cheers mate, it was brilliant.

Still having cooling issues though - too much of it now. At exactly 55mph the EWP starts to overcool the engine - it simply can't work any slower so the temperature starts bobbing up and down. I can either blank of a portion of the massive radiator, or put a flow restrictor in the top hose. Not sure what I'll do yet.

But it was perfect on the trails and the heater kept us very warm the whole time :).

Nice! Looked like a nice easy lane to get people started! And people with posh landies so they don't scratch them lol

Need to go on the hunt for some ruffer stuff next :)

We will all have to think of somewhere central too us all and have a freelander laneing day!

If that's possible most of us would have overheated on the way there :p

You always hear bumps and knocks and grinds but when u give it a clean and have a peep there's no damage there at all! It always works out like that with me anyway lol

My VCU picked up a huge scuff during a rare (for me) pay and play day at Bagshot Heath last year - pond with submerged rocks, anyhow still works fine - still had lift kit on back then!

I was wondering if it is necessary to actually go as fast through some of the pot holes and
squidgy stuff, as you seemed to be,??
I would have thought that with your tyres, a steady forward momentum is all that would be needed..??

I am happy to be wrong as I have never been off road before..

Freelanders need a bit more oomf to get through some things, but most of the time you are going to have to go a little faster than tratters simply because of gearing.

Some of them I deliberately hit harder than I needed to just to make life interesting for the missus :D!!

Thanks for that,,as said I haven't been off road before so really didn't know,

They are much better than we all think I always used to be scared of getting stuck but once you do it once or twice and you get used to it and everything becomes easy lol you could have stopped in the middle of all that and driven out no problem

Especially with your traction control u posh git lol

Yeh there was lots we didn't film. It really was pretty easy but the lanes weren't that bad. But going round Sibbertoft P+P with a lifted Hippo was fantastic! It was going everywhere the tratters were going but at tiwice the speed !!

...... A tratter has continuous (or permanant) 4 wheel drive and a low range gearbox. Freelander is a road bias vehicle and a tratter is an off road bias vehicle.

I disagree :), a Honda Civic is a road biased vehicle, the Freelander it a sort of inbetween. I think of it like this, using examples:

Oft Road Bias to On Road Bias
Defender/Rangie > Freelander > Evoque > Impreza/Forrester > Audi Quattro > Eurobox > Sports Car

A Honda Civic is a road car full stop. Our difference in opinion is most likely a reflection of our differing needs. My FL to me is a road car - yours is probably more of an offroader. Money no object (if only), I should by a D4 or RRS and you need a tricked out Defender. Realise I'm a BOF on this but I really do believe that the Disco's are the perfect combination - well for me anyway:)
