just got some waffle boards and want to mount them to the exterior of the landy on the side panels..without buying the bloody expensive waffle board holders can anyone suggest a way of mounting them and possibly a way of locking them,i didnt think the scorpion racing and other types of holders were lockable..

I think daft meant have the wingnut on the inside and the waffles on the outside. The wingnut can then not be undone by "scroats". Im with G man, drill threaded bar for padlock. I would get a long bolt over a threaded bar though so you can get a rated one. Threaded bar is sometimes made of toffee.

shirley they is vandal proof if the wing nut is on the inside of the motor - use coach bolts thru a steel palte on the outside of the waffle boards , cos they have round no grip heads.

if yu want to make ot more vandal proof, if the nut is on the inside - just fit an "R" clip thru it, dont do it up too tight and it will just rotate if anyone tries to grip it, or drill it.

all sounds good to me,and i think will look a lot more descrete than the waffle board holders, guess what i will be doing saturday.

one thing i will probably have to do tho is mount from inside out so the removing wingnut is on the outer of the vehicle and not the inner as its a county sw it has all the inner padded panels,

only prob yu mite have is with the local plod - they aint too happy with bolts sticking out the side of vehicles coz they can rip peeps to shreds. Mite also get caught on bushes and trees.

Mine are nice and discreet :D

around the back ;) works really well. secured with M16 bolts, take em off and put them in the garage when not in use.
