Been trying for hours to remove the viscous fan from my 2005 Vogue Supercharged....

The main issue is the thread direction...

I have been getting conflicting information on it, some say it R/H thread then others are telling me its L/H thread!

Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks!!

As a rule viscus fans usually undo the opposit way that they turn when engine running, this is to "stop" it spinning loose when fan is in full swing... hope this helps

P.S my dse, brothers shogun, mates RX7 all undo opposit the fan rotation when running.:)

Mike,

Did you get it off without having to lock the waterpump, mines stuck like a big stuck thing....am having to make a tool to lock mine as it wont shock off.

Thanks to a photo on a previous thread, i know to make a 3 holed tool so it wont bend (hopefully).

No i didnt have to lock the pump, it took me 15 mins of shocking it with a big hammer and it finaly went, i had to swing that hard that i nearly beat the **** accidently out of my rad,:mad2::frusty: i tried allsorts to stop the pully slipping on the belt but in the end the shock method was the only way with the tools ive got lol.
:)
