Vin plate

What type of vin plate do I need for a 1989 ninety is it the same as the defender onwards or is it the older series one? As mines not there all the numbers tie up just wondering what type to buy

How do all the numbers tie up if the vin plate is missing? Is the one in the windscreen still visible?

Surly if the chassis number is visible and matches the v5 and the reg plate then they all match. The vin is just a piece of tin plate riveted onto the brake pedal. Older models did not have a windscreen one, mine never did, and just have the plate on the pedal.

All the numbers tie up . Years ago when buying salvage cars they used to remove the vin plate and you had to get it made. There is no window vin in that year 1989.i was just wondering if that year was the defender type plate or the old series type as I was right at when they started calling them defenders
