Following my previous thread regarding this problem when Nodge gave me good advice I had the calipers checked and all seems to be ok.
But I still have the vibration so could it be anything to do with the AUTO BOX and I tell you why.
Twice recently I stopped at RED traffic lights which I knew were long winded ones and put the gear box into N, when the lights changed Green I put the box into D and drove off and within seconds the Vibration thro the steering wheel started and kept on until I stopped.
??????????? any ideas.

Worn drive shafts would be my first guess too, maybe in combination with a worn lower tie bar bush.

Being an asbolute no goer when it comes to mechanics, would worn Drive Shafts apply to all 4 wheels and if so is it a big expensive repair?

Drive shafts on the front will cause a vibration mostly during acceleration. Does the vibration stop when you lift off the throttle?
Only the front wheels
Normally caused by cheap nasty aftermarket drive shafts.

Thanks to all for the info. Could the front nearside Drive Shaft be bent because a few weeks ago I hit a large deep Pothole at about 25/30 mph with the front and rear near side wheels and the resulting noise was such that I thought there had to be some damage. I have looked but can"t see any damage.
In answer to Alibro "Yes I guess it does stop when I lift off but I"m usually in heavy traffic and my concentration is on the other vehicles around me".

Unlikely to bend a drive shaft, but it could well bend the lower wishbone, which is a known rust point.

I read a lot of these posts.
After all the brill advice for a fault there's new information!!!
Anything can upset the balance of a vehicle and all information is needed to diagnose.
So you hit a pot hole, maybe get alignment checked. The new fangled 4 wheel jobs can't lie and you can see the screen yourself. Some places check for free.

One more thing. The day I hit the pothole I was on my way home from my local garage who specialise in Land Rovers having had New AntiRoll Bar Drop Links fitted. I"ve had a look this morning and one of them(The nearside one) does seem to look to be out of shape. Could that cause the vibration and pulling to the nearside.

Just a warning!! Some have found the wishbone rusted through. A bump could displace this, bend the anti roll link and be very dangerous to drive.

Worth a look, if the wishbone has changed shape don't drive it!!!

Thanks again for all the relevant suggestions and advice. Will phone the LR authorised repairs garage today and get them to come and have a look. Will keep you informed.
